Could you be experiencing
Post-Abortion Syndrome?
If you have an abortion in your past, you may experience
some of the following symptoms and not realize the connection.
- Anger or Bitterness
- Anguish over your decision
- Anxiety or Panic
- Grief or Crying Spells
- Depression or Emotional Numbness
- Fear of pregnancy
- Fear of others finding out
- Guilt or Regret
- Hopelessness
- Insecurity or Inadequacy
- Flashbacks or Nightmares
- Rejection or Shame
- Thoughts of suicide
- Unforgiveness of yourself or others
Ask yourself these
questions:
- Are you struggling with feelings associated with
your abortion, telling yourself to forget about it?
- Do physical reminders of your abortion affect you?
- Do you find yourself depressed, sick or accident-prone
each year around the time of your due date or abortion date?
- Do you avoid babies, pregnant women or discussions
about abortion?
- Do you fear you will never conceive or do not
deserve children?
- Do you overprotect or harm the children you have?
- Do you tend to divide your life into “before”
and “after” abortion?
