HELP Program
SUPPORT DURING PREGNANCY
AND
FOR A YEAR AFTER
THE BABY
IS BORN
WHAT IS HELP?
HELP provides
Information for the new mom
Material assistance to those challenged by all that a new baby needs
Friendship for those who are looking for someone to share their experience
HOW DO I JOIN?
Make an appointment to meet with a peer counselor.
At this meeting, you can ask questions and get to know us better.
We can assess your needs and evaluate how we can best serve you.
We will enroll you in the HELP program at this time.
WHAT ARE HELP SESSIONS LIKE?
There are two groups: maternity and parenting.
Those who are pregnant enroll in our maternity group. They can advance to the parenting group as soon as the baby is born.
Those with infants two months old or younger can be enrolled in the parenting program.
HELP sessions last for 1½ to 2 hours. You will meet with other women in similar circumstances and will have the opportunity to receive counsel and support.
At each HELP session, you may receive free material support. Maternity clients can choose clothes for themselves; parenting clients may choose baby items such as clothes, diapers, strollers, blankets, etc.
Because we depend on donations, the material support we provide is supplemental and is not intended to provide for all of an individual's needs.
Abba will provide a referral list that can assist you in finding additional help.
